Hi, I'm Shanyah!
I'm the baker, decorator, recipe developer and owner behind Cakes 'n' Crumbs By Shanyah – a little home bakery in Newman, Western Australia.
What started as a way to unwind in the kitchen has grown into a business I'm so proud of, making everything from custom celebration cakes and branded corporate cookies to my signature loaded cookies that have become a bit of a local favourite.
Baked fresh, just like home
Every recipe has been made and tested in my own kitchen, with one simple goal: treats that taste like the ones you remember. That warm-from-the-oven feeling, the first gooey bite, the kind of dessert that takes you straight back to being a kid sneaking something sweet from Mum's kitchen. To me, a cake should feel like a hug, and a cookie should be so good you're already thinking about the next one.
As a mum of three, life is wonderfully chaotic – and that's exactly where my slogan, "Sweet chaos, one treat at a time," comes from. Between school drop-offs, little helpers licking the bowl and late-night decorating sessions, every order is made by hand, with care and plenty of love.
Whether I'm baking a birthday cake, a big batch of treats for a local business, or fresh goodies for a community event, my goal is always the same: to make something homemade that brings people together and feels a little bit special.
